ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER or TRAINEE ARCHITECTURAL ASSISTANT

We have a unique opportunity to join our small architectural design team at the award winning oak framed construction company, Border Oak. 

Our existing team is small, friendly, and professional, producing a diverse range of bespoke designs for both domestic and commercial projects across the UK and abroad. 

The position would include working alongside our project development managers in preparing and assessing client briefs, helping produce concept schemes and initial design direction, preparing and checking planning drawings and ancillary documents, assisting our Senior Designer, and creating artistic impressions/visual rendering amongst other design and administration responsibilities within the department. 

The successful candidate will have an interest in and knowledge of architecture, the built form and hopefully the planning application process. A broad interest in all forms of design is fundamental and an understanding of oak framed architecture and/or construction would be desirable. CAD (or similar) skills, design/architectural qualifications, construction experience/knowledge would all be advantageous. 

However, we would also be prepared to invest in training for an outstanding candidate with less experience. 

You should enjoy working in a small team and be able to take instruction, as well as work independently. A willingness to learn and develop is very important. 

The position is full time and based at our offices in Herefordshire. Salary will be based on experience and qualifications and the package will include a company pension scheme and bonus scheme.
